Laptop SSD and RAM upgrade in Nehru Place
The single most effective repair for a slow laptop: an SSD and more memory, fitted while you wait, with Windows and your data cloned across.
A laptop that takes minutes to boot and freezes with a few tabs open almost always has a hard disk and too little RAM. Replacing the disk with an SSD and adding memory makes a five year old machine feel new for a fraction of the cost of replacing it.
We clone the existing Windows installation and files to the new SSD so you get the laptop back exactly as it was, only faster. If the old disk is failing we do a fresh installation instead and move the data.
240 GB to 2 TB from Samsung, WD, Crucial, Kingston and others, matched to what the laptop supports.
DDR3, DDR4 and DDR5 modules to 8, 16 or 32 GB, subject to the laptop's limit which we check first.
Existing OS and data cloned to the new drive; nothing to reinstall.
Same upgrades for desktops; SSD upgrades on Intel MacBooks and older Airs.
Returned to you or used as an external backup disk in an enclosure.
Common questions
Will an SSD really make my laptop faster?
Yes, it is the biggest single improvement possible. Boot times drop to seconds and programs open immediately.
How much RAM should I add?
8 GB is fine for office work, 16 GB for heavier multitasking and editing. We check what your model supports.
Do I lose my data during the upgrade?
No. The existing drive is cloned to the SSD. We still recommend a backup as good practice.
